Small tool. Daily progress.

A little room to find your rhythm.

Monkey Typing is a simple place to practice typing, notice your habits, and try again.

Open the page. Start typing.

Choose a timed test, a word count, an original practice quote, or your own text. Your first character starts the clock. When you finish, you can review your words per minute, accuracy, and how your speed changed during the test.

The home page keeps practice within one screen. Longer typing guides explain the parts that deserve more space: building speed, avoiding repeated mistakes, and understanding your scores.

Your practice stays in your browser

The test runs on your device. There is no account to create, leaderboard to join, or typing session to upload. Settings and up to 50 recent results are saved in this browser when local storage is available. Custom practice text is not saved with your results.

Local history is a convenient practice record, not a backup. Clearing browser data removes it, and results do not follow you to another browser or device. Our privacy page explains local storage and website hosting in more detail.

An independent project

Monkey Typing is an independent website. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Monkeytype or any other typing platform. Our practice passages, guides, and visual identity are created for this site.

Typing scores are practice feedback. Different tools use different passages and scoring rules, so compare similar attempts here rather than treating every score on the web as interchangeable. Read how our WPM calculation works for details.

Make a small start

Try the default 30-second typing test, or spend a little longer with the one-minute test. You do not need a target score to begin. One comfortable attempt gives you something to build on.
